CARTES FLUX ³

Call for Installations

'CARTES Flux' calls for digital artists to participate in the selection for the festival of new media art. The next 'CARTES Flux' will take place in May 2008 and is hosted by the Centre of Art and Technology CARTES, Espoo, Finland.

Rules:

The theme of your installation is open but the installation should have been completed within the two previous years, 2005-2007. The focus of the selection will concentrate on the innovative use of the digital technology converging the subject matter.

Submission should include: a brief description of the idea (4-5 sentences), a detailed description of the functioning, size and any other requirements as well as a detailed list of equipment. A short (max. 10min) documentation of the installation on DVD can be added to the submission if relevant.

No participation fee. You can download the submission form for installation from the following links in .pdf or .doc format.

Please include a Cd-rom containing your bio, brief description of the idea (4-5 sentences) and 2–3 still images of the installation to your submission. In addition you should send your bio, contact details and the brief description of the idea to flux ( a t ) cartes-art.fi

Send your submission as soon as possible, latest on 5.12.07 (date of postmark) to:

Submissions will not be returned unless a S.A.E. is included. After the festival all the films will be included to the educational archive of CARTES. The copyright of the installations remains with the Author in all cases. CARTES is a non-for-profit Foundation and will not in any case utilise your installation for monetary gains.
