At the Border
2:28 | 2006
Spaces within spaces exist in a state of tension with the world beyond the room. A child occupies an ambiguous, liminal space where ‘nothing happens’ yet something makes itself felt. She is at the border between the outer world glimpsed through the curtained window and the refl ection in the mirror and the mysterious inner world of the drawers, boxes and vase behind the curtains. We know only from her voice and the faint noises of her movements in the room.
